The organiser of Event Buyers Live has revealed the first round of industry experts set to host intimate roundtables at the 2019 event, as part of an extensive educational programme.

The event, taking place February 20-21 at Heythrop Park, Oxfordshire, will see Jonathan Smith, group head of risk at Goodwood, Graham MacVoy, director of GMC Events, and Chris Johnson, co-founder of Shambala, facilitate intimate roundtable discussions on health and safety, event operations and sustainability.

Also heading up roundtables at the 2019 event are Ben Hardy, managing director of Richmond Event Management, Dick Tee, managing director of EnTEEtainment,

Adam Parry, co-founder of Event Tech Live, and Steve Heap, general secretary of the Association of Festival Organisers. They will discuss increasing footfall, technical event production and event technology, respectively. Heap will host a clinic that enables festival organisers to speak openly about issues faced in the field.

Hardy commented: “Since joining Richmond Event Management in 2010, I have had great pleasure in working across a breadth of events and festivals, from small community events to large-scale festivals. It has meant that I have witnessed and experienced a great deal of measures and processes that must come together to create an event.

“Over the years, I have enjoyed learning from other events professionals so am looking forward to sharing what I have learned with other organisers at Event Buyers Live and hope that I can learn from other attendees too. I feel it’s incredibly important to exchange ideas because it encourages healthy debate and that can only be of benefit to the events industry.”

Live events professionals at the industry event will be able to join the experts who will encourage debate, pose questions and offer up their own experiences.

Neil Fagg, event director of Event Buyers Live, added: “We’re so excited to announce our first round of industry experts – they are the first of many speakers that we have lined up who are ready to share advice and best practice with organisers at the industry event.

“We pride ourselves on offering content specifically tailored to address the issues that our industry faces; our audience appreciates such an opportunity to have an intimate conversation.”

Event Buyers Live has built a strong reputation for solid business networking, an insightful education programme and the sharing of industry knowledge. Attendees already confirmed for 2019 include Brand Events, CSM Live, AEG Live, Grace and Tailor, IMG, DRP and SGA Productions.

Fagg concluded: “We are incredibly excited to reveal our last five chairs of our roundtables, let alone our keynotes!”

Organisers interested in attending should act fast if they wish to secure a place. Only 100 organisers will be granted a position at the exclusive event, which is free for organisers to attend.
