5 Venues Inspired by Art & Design

We discovered these five stunning venues inspired by Art & Design. These beautiful locations are perfect for special events. Each one offers custom designed spaces and in house amenities, making it easy for planners while providing a unique experience for guests. From Montreal to Vancouver, be sure to include these beauties when deciding where to host your next event.

 Twist Gallery

Featuring large arched French windows, brick, beam and exposed ductwork,  Twist Gallery is a must see. It is Queen Street cool in downtown Toronto without the false pretension that can make similar event spaces feel cold and uninviting.  For owner and gallery director Nadia Kakridonis it was important that guests felt relaxed and at home the moment they walk in the door.  While the venue has been around since 2010, it’s still as fresh and inspiring as the day it opened. If your client wants unique, welcoming and hip, Twist Gallery is the perfect spot.  http://www.twistgallery.ca

McMicheal Gallery

McMicheal Gallery located in the picturesque town of Kleinburg is a beautiful pioneer inspired event space that retains much of the charm of the original building designed in 1954 by architect  Leo Venchiarutti.  Featuring barn board walls, fieldstone fireplaces, hand rubbed log framing and set among 100 acres of pristine natural woodlands, McMicheal is the ideal setting for planners looking for an event space that’s close enough to home but feels a world apart from the hustle and noise of Toronto. http://www.mcmichael.com/

Chali-Rosso Art Gallery

This space will surprise you.  Unassuming as it may look on the outside, inside it’s a 3000 square foot, open concept with room for up to 150 guests. The venue first opened its door in 2005 on South Granville’s Gallery Row. After the collection has quadrupled in size the gallery had to look for a bigger location and moved to its current address, to the heart of Downtown Vancouver. It’s walls are adorned with original work by masters Chagall, Matisse, Picasso, Dali, Renoir, Rembrandt van Rijn, Warhol and many others, http://chalirosso.com

Art Evolution Events at the Crossroads Art Centre

With a backdrop of stunning fine art and collectables, Art Evolution Events at the Crossroads Art Centre provides a striking venue for upscale corporate events, cocktail receptions, meetings and wedding celebrations. Nestled in the heart of the city near trendy Inglewood, the Crossroads Art Centre is a unique building from the 1920’s. With access to multiple spaces including an intimate gallery, spacious lounge, ballroom, 200 person theatre, and plenty of free parking, Art Evolution Events provides over 6500 square feet of flexible event space only 5 minutes away from Calgary’s downtown core.  https://www.artevolution.com/events/

Darling Foundry

The Darling Foundry is a visual-arts venue that was founded and is directed by the not-for-profit art organization Quartier Éphémère, which has the mandate of supporting the creation, production, and dissemination of contemporary art. It occupies 3,500 m2 in two adjoined former industrial buildings in Old Montreal.  The Darling Foundry offers two exhibition spaces; the larger of the two has a distinct industrial cachet that lends itself well to solo exhibitions and live events.  The smaller of the two has a more conventional gallery aesthetic and is good for open receptions, intimate dinners and small exhibitions. Together the two spaces offer a unique opportunity to plan something uber cool that offers guests the chance to experience two different environments that juxtapose a myriad of periods and styles under the same roof.   http://fonderiedarling.org/en/
